In this episode, I’ll discuss:

  • How to persuade an analytical robot
  • What to do when someone gets in your face
  • The difference between goal and style conflict
  • Why “mirroring” is a better strategy than your normal tendencies

So the next time you face conflict how will you respond? We would love to hear your thoughts so please share them below!

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/08_Winsight_Episode_8_-_Flip_the_Script.mp3]

Life isn’t about what happens to you. It’s about how you to choose to respond to it.

Winning in life has a lot to do with how you view the world. You can choose to be a victim or you can choose to be a victor.

During this podcast I’ll discuss:

  • What reframing is and how it can help you
  • Why skeptics can end up being your best customers
  • When sometimes its better for others to talk for you
  • The difference between going down the winning vs. losing road

How can you flip the script on a current challenge? Please share your story below so others can be inspired! Thanks!

Winsight Episode 7: Developing Leaders

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/07_Winsight_Episode_7_-_Developing_Leaders.mp3]

Leadership is a buzz word and everyone wants to be a leader. The truth is a small percentage of people are actually leaders. Now you can learn leadership skills, but that doesn’t make you a leader. You can hold positions, but that doesn’t make you a leader. Personally I fall much more on the side that a leader is born not made, but today’s episode isn’t going to tackle that dispute. Today, I’d like to share my personal thoughts on the difference between leadership and leadership development.

Through personal examples and stories I’ll share:

  • The second tier of leadership
  • The inverted triangle and how it changed my leadership style
  • How deferring on a hiking trip won a popularity contest
  • How leadership math works

As a leader what type of legacy do you want to leave? How does your style affect others? Share your positive and negative examples below so others can learn from your example!

Winsight Episode 6: Don’t Be a Street Sweeper

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/06_Winsight_Episode_6_-_Dont_Be_a_Street_Sweeper.mp3]

On our street every Friday a street sweeper comes by and supposedly cleans the side of the road near the curb. Call me cynical, but that machine has to be the biggest waste of money known to man. All it does is swirl the dirt and debris in the air and spray some water down. It doesn’t actually pick anything up or clean the area. In fact, it seems like the only purpose is to catch people who don’t read the parking signs and give them a ticket. To me, the only winner here is the city.

In today’s episode I’ll discuss why a street sweeper is similar to how we live our lives. We’ll cover the following points:

  • Why being “busy” isn’t a good thing
  • What a rocking horse has to do with motion vs. progress
  • Where relaxing went wrong and prioritizing went right
  • Why money isn’t the most important currency anymore

So after learning about how you can be a street sweeper sometimes, what are “busy” doing? Please share your thoughts below!

Winsight Episode 5: Why You Need a PHD (Permanent Hustle Degree)

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/05_Winsight_Episode_5_-_PHD.mp3]

School is overrated. Now with a Bachelors and Masters Degree under my belt that sounds hypocritical coming from me, but knowledge doesn’t necessarily translate to real world skills.

You can’t afford to wait for the economy to rebound. It’s not going to happen.

In this episode, I’ll explain the following reasons why you need a PHD (permanent hustle degree):

  • Why there is NO substitution for experience
  • Networking shouldn’t just be a goal, it should be part of your lifestyle
  • How public speaking is just like selling
  • Why you need a side hustle and when you should start one (or many)

What’s your experience with school and how has it shaped you into the person you are today? What idea has been brewing in your head/heart that you need to share with the world? Comment below because we need to know!

Winsight Episode 3: The Importance of Goliath

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/03_Winsight_Episode_3_-_Goliath.mp3]

The original Goliath in the Bible was a defeated in a huge upset by David and ever since then the underdog has become the fan favorite.

In this episode I’d like to pose the argument why we all need “Goliaths” in our lives through the following points:

  • How Nike leads the pack and everyone else benefits from them
  • The Tiger effect and how he is bigger than the sport itself
  • Why dominance in sports is good and parody is bad
  • Why identifying your personal Goliath is important and how your legacy depends on it

Who or what is your Goliath? Share how you have overcome this figure in the comments below and you’ll inspire someone else to do the same!

Winsight Episode 2: Why You Need Haters

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/02_Winsight_Episode_2_-_Haters.mp3]

People like to call others haters, but what if that isn’t necessarily a bad thing?

If you take a stance on ANYTHING someone is bound to disagree with you, so I’ll discuss why haters are essential in this episode:

  • Being politically correct vs. keeping your opinion to yourself
  • My connection to Lakers Nation & how the Lakers historically bad season helped me
  • The relationship between controversy and respect
  • Leadership, significance and haters

What’s been your experience with “haters?” I’d love to hear your thoughts below and how you’ve risen above it!

Winsight Episode 1: Introduction to the Winsight Podcast

[audio http://traffic.libsyn.com/winsight/01_Winsight_Episode_1.mp3]

So I’ve jumped on the podcast bandwagon after seeing the majority of the entrepreneurs that I follow regularly do them consistently with great results. I’m not a huge radio/music listener, but I see the benefits of audio learning.

In this introductory podcast I’ll cover:

  • How podcasts are a “passive” learning tool
  • Why I use sports analogies with my coaching clients
  • Why I don’t market myself as a Life Coach
  • Why flexibility and reinvention is key to your success

This is going to be a fun ride and I need your feedback and comments to tackle the subjects that matter most to you. Please leave your comments/suggestions about the podcast below and I’ll get back to you ASAP!
