Winning Customers Over Before They’ve Stepped In

As more and more businesses go online and purely ply their trade via online deliveries, it seems like that’s where all the fun is. However, it’s natural that the way we shop will swing like a pendulum. If events like Black Friday has taught business owners anything, it’s that shoppers will turn up in large number, in the flesh and judge you on your presentation. Websites are incredibly versatile and so online businesses may think that they have the edge in attracting customers to their virtual front doors. It cannot be overstated enough that there will always, always be consumers who want to buy their products in person. This is why it’s vital that your storefront doesn’t look dead and docile.

Welcomed by an archway

What’s the first thing you’ll see when you look at a store? You may think you notice the glass windows and automatic doors, but subconsciously you’re surveying the actual building itself. Does it look sturdy, strong and like a professional place for consumerism? Providing a shelter outside shields customers from the rain, wind and creates a feeling of entering into something grand. This can look like anything you want, and with aluminum canopies strong materials are available. Don’t forget that an entrance canopy is like an archway and should be a symbol of your creativity and the majestic appeal of your business; aesthetics is just one of the lures in your bait box.

Cleanliness to impress

Ever walked by a store and although it looks nice inside, there’s just litter everywhere outside? This is one of the big reasons which may put consumers off from coming to your establishment. Who wants to walk through someone else’s rubbish for anything? Make sure you have bins that are both outside the front door and just inside too; preferably on the way out beyond the counters. Like the old times of high street shops, it could pay dividends to hose down the pavement directly outside the store every morning. Grime, dirt and even chewing gum can make the outside look tacky and uncared for. If customers can see that you don’t care about the image of your business, they’re not very likely going to take your business seriously.

A powerful logo sign

Big, bold and brash is how your business logo sign should be displayed outside. LED lights are cheaper than the traditional bulbs and much brighter, so begin using them if you haven’t already. Use bright and vibrant colors because your store may have the sunshine gleaming on it all day. Cheap coloring can fade quickly and take the charm away, and also not shine enough to still be visible from certain angles on a bright day.

Winning customers over even before they have stepped into your store is a psychological manipulation. Professionalism and high standards should be the ethos of your public image when it comes to cleanliness of your storefront.  The archway entrance can be subtle and boring or grand and inviting, the design choice will have an effect on the vibe of your store.
